Can a girl and a boy be friends???

I was compelled to think this as one of my friend made a statement while we were chatting that a guy and a girl can never be friends, there are always some feelings involved. The sole reason for this debate can be the Bollywood movies (mainly love stories ) which we have been bearing since our childhood, involving a guy and a girl having friendship in the beginning which ultimately prospers into love.
Late “Mr. Yash chopra” tried to prove this with his movies again 90% of which were love stories , be it ‘Dil toh pagal hai’, ‘mere yaar ki shaadi hai’, ‘mujhse dosti karoge’,’hum tum’, ‘salaam namaste’, ‘new york’ etc etc (i have a long list of those) all teach only one lesson at the end and that is “ek ladka aur ladki kabhi dost nahi ho sakte”.

The other person who can be convicted of being accomplice to him is the king of bollywood “Mr. Shahrukh Khan” for his love story movies which left us with this debatable question for lifetime. But 1 place where i find him not being guilty for this is his  great dialogue (of which i’m still a fan) from the movie Kuch kuch hota hai

Pyar dosti hai , agar woh meri sab se achchi dost nahin ban sakti to main us se pyaar kar hi nahi sakta. (Love is friendship, if she can’t be my good friend then I cannot fall in love with her)”

which makes this question a easy one to be answered, that for a guy and a girl to be in a relationship they need to have a strong friendship between them.

I often see people jumping to romantic conclusions on seeing a opposite-sex friendship, why is it so? It is all because we are all used to see girl- guy pairs as romantic be it the ending of movies, stories shown by media these days etc. According to media no actor & actress who work together in a movie can be friends, they have to be in a relationship to work together. What rubbish!!!!

While i’m not too close to any of my girl friends( not girlfriends :p) i’m  fortunate to have some of them only as friends. We talk nonsense, laugh together, enjoy a lot and do all crazy stuff. Neither I’ve any feelings for them nor i intend to have any in the near future. Hence i disagree that a guy and girl can’t be friends but i do agree that at some point a “what if” usually crosses both minds about dating and there comes a time when either of them or both develop feelings for each other, but i don’t see those feelings are going to ruin their friendship instead will strengthen the bond of friendship between them.

Mother's Day...

The first person to feel your presence, the most beautiful gift given to us by almighty- Maa, mom, mummy, mai, mamma, ammi or whatever you call her, she’s the same whatsoever. We celebrate 2nd Sunday of May as “Mother’s day” but what I feel is, even if whole year is dedicated to mothers, it would be nothing as compared to what she does for us right from the day we are born. She is the first person to wake up in the morning (sometimes much before the sun rises), cooks the first meal of the day, wakes up everyone one by one, gets everyone ready for his/her school or work, endures all of our tantrums, keeps on running whole day just to keep us satisfied in every possible way, and is the last person to go to sleep.

She started planning our future on the very day she felt our presence inside her, just to make sure we can live life more comfortably. She’s the one who is more tensed for our examinations than us as if she’s the one going to appear for them. Our whole life revolves around her when we are small. The first word that a child says when he/she is in pain or needs something is “mother”. Mother is the first friend that a child has to share every single detail of the day spent. She’s the one who is awake whole night when we are sick, and prays to god to give all our sufferings to her and bless us with good health. There is really no way in which we can thank our mother for all that she has done for us. Isn’t it difficult to understand how she must have borne the tantrums of our teenage life , all the rude behavior we used to have at that time and remained all calm throughout those years.

“My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her.” —George Washington

Nobody can understand the pain of people without mother, i can understand how it might feel. For all those who have one just cherish this gift of god and enjoy this very special day for her with her.
Mother’s day is the perfect day to rectify all your mistakes done in past and make it a special day for the first most important women of your life. Try to take, not all but some of her responsibilities on you for a day and give her a hassle free one day of her life. Pamper her a little and give her a big “jaadu ki jhappi” as she gives you all the year round whenever you need her to do so.  Wishing all the beautiful and lovely mother’s out there a very “HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY”.
